In Brazil, it’s a cultural custom to wear a new pair underwear on the first day of the new year to symbolize a fresh start, with the color also determining how your year will pan out (yellow attracts money, pink brings true love, etc). According to Stylesight, Brazilian lingerie companies Loungerie and Any Any have taken advantage of the tradition by releasing New Years undies in the 4 lucky colors. Any Any’s are lace-trimmed and come in a heart-shaped box, white Loungerie’s come packaged with their fortunes in crystal — “Peace,” “Love,” “$$,” etc. Here are all the lucky colors, explained:
- White brings peace, tranquility, balance, and harmony
- Red brings passion and desire
- Yellow attracts money and prosperity; embodies luxury
- Pink brings romance and symbolizes true love
