Mindy Kaling isn’t pregnant nor does she plan on getting pregnant any time soon, but The Office actress swears by her prenatal vitamins for her gorgeous locks and smooth skin. She writes in her blog, the vitamins have made her “hair grow faster, thicker” and kept her “skin glow-y and smooth.”
Is she on to something or is it all in her head? I’ve been watching her on The Office for years, and her hair has always been thick and luscious. Maybe the vitamins have helped a bit, but she had a good head of hair to begin with. She should give herself more credit.
And according to the Mayo Clinic, taking prenatal vitamins if you’re not pregnant can be a problem because of the extra iron in the formula. Too much of it can be toxic because “it can build up in your body, causing constipation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and, in severe cases, possibly death.” Yikes! Maybe she shouldn’t be taking those vitamins?
What do you think? Anyone else out there taking prenatal vitamins who isn’t pregnant or planning on having a baby any time soon? What’s been your experience with the supplement? Sound off in the comments below.
