Bronzer is one of the most deceptively difficult beauty products to purchase—even more so than foundation, believe it or not. There are so many things to consider when buying a good bronzer. Do you want a matte or shimmer finish? Do you want a liquid or a powder? Do you want a deep tan or just a golden glow?

For pale-ies like me, the miracle product and cult favorite is Too Faced Cosmetics‘ Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. It’s the perfect shade, has an ideal matte finish, and the best part? It smells like the inside of an instant hot chocolate packet. While it’s definitely a bronzer to keep on your wish list, the $30 price tag is less than ideal. Never fear though: we found bronzers for less that are just as good, and while they don’t necessarily come with the chocolatey scent, they’re so good that you’ll hardly miss it (or just take a whiff of some Swiss Miss every now and then).
