Thankfully, one of the trends showcased on Chloe's spring runway has begun trickling into the mainstream: crop tops.
While Britney may have blackened its name by prancing around in a questionable school girl's uniform during her glory days, this time around the trend is being interpreted in a totally different way. This spring, the crop top has gone sweet – and doesn't involve flaunting your midriff.
This Loeffler Randall Crop Cami in Poppy Print ($195) can be paired with high-waisted, wide-leg linen pants or jeans. It will end where the pants begin and give the illusion of a
perfectly tiny waist without showing any extra skin.
Try wearing this Express Cropped Pocket Tee ($10, was $24.50) with white jeans for a sharp black and white look that remains on the casual side.
Layer this Nanette Lepore Cream Eyelet 'Daddy-O' Cropped Blouse ($134, was $275) with a fitted tee and pair with a brightly colored circle skirt. It's a great alternative to slipping on yet another standard summer dress.
If you're still wary of the trend, a more conservative way to cropped is by wearing a button-down shirt like J. Crew's Short-Sleeve Stretch Broadcloth Shirt ($59.50). Undo the bottom buttons and tie both tails together into a loose knot.
