The 125 Best New Beauty Launches Of 2023

Last week, one of our editors told you about the worst jeans for girls with a booty, so now I am here to rep us small butt chicks. Our bums are flatter than a stack of flapjacks. We can’t sit on people’s laps because they complain we’re bony. We don’t have cushioning. We spend hours scrolling through Jen Selter‘s Instagram, wondering how the heck she made a career out of her derriere. We would never wear bottoms with words across the butt because why, oh why, would we want to draw attention to our barley-there a$$? A belfie??? We could never do it justice.

But all of this doesn’t mean we can’t look hot in jeans. Denim season is coming up (less than 30 days ya’ll!), so now’s the time to figure out which styles to buy. The biggest challenge for us small booty gals is finding a pair that we can actually fill out. This used to make us feel like we were starring in Mission: Impossible — Jeans Edition, but has become slightly less stressful now that the “no booty” body type is on the map (thanks, Bloomingdale’s!). So, from one small butt chick to another, I present the best jeans if you don’t have a booty:

Jeans with flap pockets

The little bit of extra material from flap pockets adds some much needed volume in back. It gives the illusion of a rounder, fuller shape. I know what you’re thinking, flap pocket jeans usually have crazy rhinestones and embellishments. This is true some of the time. But brands like Hudson Jeans actually make pairs that don’t look like a bedazzled Razr phone circa 2002.

High-waisted jeans

Since we’re lacking in the booty department, our curves aren’t really kickin’ either. A high-rise jean sits above our hips and hugs our waist, which makes us feel like we have the body of Beyonce (or as close as we’ll ever get to it). If you’re worried about people calling you out for mom jeans, then just wear a long shirt or sweater with your high-waisteds and no one will know the difference.

Dark wash jeans

Indigo and black wash jeans make our bums (or lack there of) less noticeable. I’m not saying you should be hiding something that makes you insecure, because that’s actually what makes you you! But if you don’t want to draw attention to your tiny booty than dark washes are the way to go.

Jeans you should AVOID

I am guilty of owning a pair or two of boyfriend jeans (they’re so comfy!), but those don’t do us any favors. The already relaxed and loose fit makes our butt nearly invisible. I’m talking flatter than a Listerine strip, and that thing has 0 rise.
