Pressure cookers are a handy appliance to have in your kitchen, but not when they present a burn hazard to its users—which is why Best Buy is recalling all Insignia pressure cookers bought between October 2017 and June 2023. Find all the info below.

Best Buy recalls Insignia pressure cookers

All pressure cookers manufactured by Insignia and sold at Best Buy are being recalled due to incorrect volume markings on the inner pot. This can cause customers to overfill the pot, leading to hot food and liquids potentially being ejected when the pressure cooker is vented using the quick release method or opened while its contents are pressurized. Affected products include Insignia pressure cookers that were sold between October 2017 and June 2023.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the recall on Oct. 26th after Best Buy received 31 reports of incidents, including 17 reports of second-degree and more severe burn injuries.

Below, you can find the product info for the recalled item:

  • Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cooker with model numbers NS-MC60SS8, NS-MC60SS9, or NS-MC80SS9
  • Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cooker inner pots with model numbers NS-MCRP6NS9 and NS-MCRP6SS9, which were sold separately as replacements
