The 125 Best New Beauty Launches Of 2023

Blue eyeshadow has gotten a bad rap over the years (80s prom and Mimi from the Drew Carey, we blame you!), but many designers are giving it a second chance for spring. Will you?

If Monique LhuillierStella McCartney, Michael Kors, Christian Dior, Moschino, Anna Sui, Armani and Rebecca Minkoff have their way, you will. All the aforementioned designers showed the look on their spring 2013 runways, and now we’re semi-obsessed–or at least warming up to the idea. If you feel like giving blue eyeshadow a second chance, too, check out our slideshow above.

And if you’re not ready to go all out with blue up to your eyebrows, use a blue eyeliner on your bottom lid for a more minimal look. Or mix your shadow with a drop of water before applying with a brush for a more pigmented longer-lasting color. Also, keep the rest of the face neutral – don’t wear too much color on the lips or cheeks, or you’ll cross over to clown territory. Good luck!
