Bella Schneider, Creator Of The Liquid Gold Facial, Breaks Down Why Her Beauty Business Is Booming

When your job involves writing about, talking about and thinking about beauty, it is sometimes difficult to get super excited about brands it feels like everyone already knows. While Bella Schneider Beauty isn’t exactly indie–scores of actresses and models like Bar Rafaeli have been flocking to Schneider’s LaBelle Day Spas & Salons in California to benefit from its 24 karat liquid gold facials (yep, real gold)–there’s a good chance this brand isn’t on your radar.

Luckily, Bella Schneider’s golden treatment, as well as a variety of luxurious anti-aging and hydrating products in the collection, are also available to purchase and use at home. That’s right–the company’s unusual, but effective products like The Beauty Globes and De-Puff Eye Serum, which really and truly eliminates morning eye puffiness and redness, and the Glow Facial Kit with glow leafing can all be yours without having to book an appointment at one of her West Coast spas.

I recently had the chance to put Bella Schneider Beauty products to the test and truth be told, they just feel more extravagant than any other beauty product I own. Fragrances and pretty packaging can only do so much, though, and that’s why I’m thrilled to report that the Royal Rose Oil Cleanser is the most gentle, light and versatile cleanser I’ve tried in a long time–and that it removes mascara with one smooth swipe. The Mini Peel Pads, which contain lactic, glycolic, phytic, azelic, and kojic acids and alpha hydroxy acid, and the entire Culminé BSB Glow Facial Kit, which consists of Absolute Glow Cleansing Milk, Pure Gold and Caviar Scub, actual gold leaves, Gold Drops Serum, and Firm & Glow Serum, were also amazing on my sensitive skin.

Given how I instantly fell in love with her products, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to speak with Bella Schneider herself. Her product picks and skincare tips below:

SHEfinds: The Caviar and Carat facial is clearly a viral hit thanks to celebs like Bar Rafaeli. What are the beauty benefits of 24 karat gold?

Bella Schneider: 24 karat gold is a wonderful rejuvenating skin treatment that helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and lightens dark spots (from hyper pigmentation). By accelerating skin cell renewal and fighting inflammation, 24 karat gold slows down collagen depletion and the breakdown of elastin. Gold is also used to fight acne and aids in the treatment of scarring.

SF: What are some Bella Schneider products and tips you would recommend for women who are in a rush and looking for a minimalist skin care regimen, but who still want their skin to look great?

BS: Cleansing is of the upmost importance. If you wash your skin properly with the right cleanser and remove all your makeup well at night, then you’re already ahead of the game. Many women tend to use the wrong cleanser–either ones that can be over drying or too mild. The first thing I “preach” to my clients is double cleanings–wash and then wash again. First, remove your makeup with oil (my Royal Rose Oil Cleanser makes makeup disappear without leaving a film on your skin). Next, treat your skin with the right cleanser that addresses your skin’s needs. If you use a cleanser that is too drying, you’ll compensate by over moisturizing. Likewise, if you use too rich of a cleanser, your skin will break out and then you’ll need to use drying products.

Exfoliation is also key, but again, many people tend to either reach for products that are too harsh for them or not strong enough. My collection of exfoliating Peel Pads for various skin types works wonders and are a staple at my spas. My Nature to Glamour Peel is also an amazing exfoliator; it’s a stimulating natural peel that you can do at home for a few minutes 1 to 2 times per week.

When it comes to the eye area, my Beauty Globes and De-Puff Eye Serum is also a go-to quick fix for achieving a bright, relaxed and youthful appearance.

SF: Which weekly products would you recommend for women willing to kick things up a notch and put the effort in for flawless skin?

BS: Again, I’d say The Nature to Glamour Peel is a wonderful thing to have in your beauty cabinet. Use it once a week for a month as an exfoliator and you’ll definitely see results.

My  Lumipele 1% Retinol cream is a maximum strength anti-aging, skin repairing and youth restoring cream that you’ll fall in love with.

Since discoloration from hyper pigmentation is such a concern, I’d say my Brightening Facial Kit. All these products are spa quality items that you can use in the convenience of your own home.

SF: What makes your product line and brand stand out?

BS: My expertise in treating women’s skin and continuous drive to finding solutions. I have successfully treated every type of skin and every skin condition you can think of for the last 40 years.

SF: Which products would you consider “cult” classics and why?

BS: The Beauty Globes and De-Puff Eye Serum, the Ampoules, the Microexfoliating Powder Cleanser and all of the DIY Facial Kits including the Glow Facial Kit with gold leafing.  These products offer results. And they’re unique. You don’t find those types of products at your local Sephora. Because I am actively working in all of my spas on a day-to-day basis working with my clients and addressing their needs, I am constantly inspired to create and formulate new ideas and products that work.
