Everyone knows OPI nail polish by their fabulous shades and out-of-the-box names. I bet there are some things you didn't know about the company, though. Scroll through to find out more about one of the best nail polish companies!

OPI stands for Odontorium Products Inc. It was a small dental supply company that was purchased in 1981.

The woman who names every OPI polish is Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. She's the co-founder and vice president of OPI. If you've ever wondered why some polish names constantly feature the name "Suzi" it's because of this woman! Side note: how amazing does that job sound?! I want to name nail polish.

OPI's best-selling polish is "I'm Not Really a Waitress." It's a classic red shade with a pearl finish.

OPI revolutionized the dark nail trend with the color "Lincoln Park After Dark." It's actually Suzi's favorite OPI color of all time! She even refers to the dark polish as a "game changer" and once it came out, women started wearing dark nails year round.

OPI has over 160 shades available at any given time. Colors, unfortunately, are retired every year but that's only to make room for new shades! Also, OPI makes 55 million bottles of polish each year. Ugh, heaven.
