The morning of the wedding is sure to be filled with lots of excitement--and maybe some nerves and a pinch of stress. So it would be normal to forget to do a few key things before you put on your dress. Here are six you’ll want to remember.

Eat.

Brides are often too busy and stressed to remember to eat the morning of their wedding. Skipping meals, especially on the day of your wedding, is a big no-no, says Sandy Hammer of AllSeated. “It’s critical for brides to make time to eat in order to prevent hunger-related issues such as dizziness, fainting and nausea later in the day. If nerves have you missing your appetite, choose belly-friendly foods like toast, oatmeal, pretzels or cereal. Anything that sounds appealing will do!”

Use the bathroom.

Pee before putting your dress on or else you may find yourself stuck in the bathroom for longer than you'd like, says Jen Glantz of Bridesmaid for Hire.

Put on the veil.

Unless it is worked into the hairstyle, brides feel ready for the day once they have their dress and shoes on, says Amanda Hudes of Smiling Through Chaos.

Hydrate.

While sipping mimosas as you get ready is fab, don't forget to drink water throughout the day, especially if getting married in the summer or in the heat, says Larissa Banting of Weddings Costa Rica.

Put on a button down shirt.

It’s important to remember to wear a shirt that doesn’t go over the head when sitting for hair and makeup, says Hammer. “You don’t want to ruin your hairstyle or smudge makeup so a button down shirt is perfect.”

Pack a bag.

Many brides forget to pack a bag to bring to the reception in advance-- this can be a bag with a change of shoes, emergency items like band aids or shout wipes, and an extra tube of lip gloss. “Don't leave this until the last minute as it tends to hold you up in the final moments before you're off to the first look or ceremony,” says Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events. “Instead, task a bridesmaid with making sure everything you need is in a bag by the door so you can pick up and go!”
