Urban Decay is one of the best makeup companies in the beauty world. I am a little bias because it happens to be my favorite makeup brand, but I'm pretty sure every girl has at least one UD product in their beauty arsenal. Umm, Naked palettes anyone?! Urban Decay's founder has a computer and technology background! Sandy Lerner is a co-founder of Cisco Systems and she was bored with the beauty market so she created her own. Urban Decay was born in 1996 and started with just 10 lipsticks and 12 nail enamels.

One of UD's best-selling and vintage eyeshadow shades is Oil Slick. It's a black matte shade with silver micro-glitter.

Unlike MAC and other various makeup companies, Urban Decay has never had a celebrity collaboration until 2015! UD's first-ever celeb collaboration is with Gwen Stefani and she created a unique eyeshadow palette with her must-have shades.

The three best-selling eyeshadow palettes are Naked, Naked2 and Naked3. Let's be serious...is this even a surprise?! Each packed with 12 irresistible shades, these palettes are a must-have for any makeup lover.

All of Urban Decay's product names are inspired by the "seedier facets" of urban places. Some of their groundbreaking names are Roach, Smog, Rust, Acid Rain and Oil Slick.

Urban Decay is known for their one-of-a-kind packaging. In fact, they've won prestigious packaging awards and even beat out top cosmetics companies like Avon and Revlon! All of UD's packaging tells a story, like the Vice4 (pictured above center), which is designed to look like an oil spill.
