Swap Eyeliner For Matte Eyeshadow
The number one trick you probably aren’t trying is going to involve kicking one makeup product you’ve likely been loyal to for years to the curb (but don’t worry, you can always bring it back on nights when you want to turn up the drama in your makeup look). McBride Spencer shows us how, by simply replacing a dark black or brown eyeliner with matte eyeshadow, you brighten your entire eye and keep it from looking harsh and emphasizing lines and wrinkles.
It isn’t typical to be told that you’ll actually look fresher if you eliminate a makeup product, since the emphasis is always on how much more we can buy, so this trick is very refreshing. McBride Spencer demonstrates the simplicity of adding a medium matte brown eyeshadow to the upper last line and lower lashline before blending each carefully. Curling your lashes and adding mascara is always a great idea (to the top and bottom lashes), but taking eyeliner out of the equation makes your eyes pop even more and celebrates their shape, rather than closing them up with an inky dark color.
