Amy Gets Candid About Weight Loss Medications In New Video
Calling herself the internet’s “favorite comedian with no top lip,” Amy posted an Instagram video of herself driving around on March 21st, talking about “keeping it 100” with her fans as she enters a new chapter of her health journey.
The mom of one has owned up to trying a few alternative pound-shedding methods since getting diagnosed with endometriosis and Cushing’s Syndrome, from using Ozempic to undergoing liposuction. Despite losing an impressive 30 pounds, she was outspoken about how she felt she lost the weight too quickly, and that the anti-obesity medication affected her ability to live her everyday life.
“I lost 30 pounds so quick,” she said.
“I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So, what’s the point?”
While cruising around, the actress talks about how she began taking Wegovy, a semaglutide-based weight loss medication, years ago. However, she eventually had to stop taking the drug, admitting she “couldn’t handle it” because it made her sick.

Amy Says 'Mounjaro's Been Great' For Her
In her video, the 43-year-old reveals she eventually found out she had entered perimenopause and went through a new telehealth meeting through a service called Midi Health, a virtual care clinic specializing in both perimenopause and menopause as well as weight loss.
Amy explains that she felt Midi Health's services were "cheap" and wanted to look into it so she could recommend it to friends and family with lower incomes. Medical experts at the clinic prescribed her estrogen and progesterone, which she began taking alongside another popular weight loss medication, Mounjaro.
"My symptoms from being in perimenopause disappeared," she says.
"My hair is fuller, my skin is better, [and] I have more energy."
The Emmy award winner also noted that "Mounjaro's been great" and she's having a "really good experience" with it. Amy is not the only celebrity who has been transparent about her history with Mounjaro, as other names in Hollywood like Whoopi Goldberg and Tori Spelling have praised the drug's effects.
