Angelina Jolie Said She 'Doesn't Recognize' America Right Now During A Recent Film Festival Interview

On September 21st, the Salt actress was one of many stars who arrived in Spain for the San Sebastián Film Festival. She was there to promote one of her latest projects, Couture, which takes place during Paris Fashion Week. During the film festival, where the new movie premiered, Angelina sat amongst her castmates to answer questions about it. During a press conference, the mom-of-six was asked how she feels about being an artist in America, which likely had to do with the latest violent incidents and the claims that she was looking to move abroad.

"It is a very difficult question," she stated. "I love my country, but at this time, I don't recognize my country."

There have been rumors circulating that the Oscar nominee has been looking to leave the country for some time, and she's even expressed the desire herself in the past, previously telling Harper's Bazaar, "I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18."

A Source Says Angelina Is 'Excited' To Leave America

Over the last few months, sources have been expressing that Angelina has been wanting to leave the United States more and more these days, especially now that her divorce from her on-and-off-again husband, Brad Pitt, was finalized at the end of last year.

The majority of their six children are over the age of 18 and pursuing their next chapters, aside from their twins, Knox and Vivienne, who will be turning 18 next July. As it turns out, that's when the 50-year-old is prepared to make her departure.

"She'll always love L.A., but she feels it has served its purpose," a source told US Weekly, adding that the actress is "feeling lighter and more at ease."

"She's ready for her next chapter," said another. "She's very excited for this next phase of her life."

We'll be curious to see if the actress and busy mom really does go through with her move abroad, but until then, fans are waiting on the edge of their seats.
