It’s not every day you catch Hollywood A-listers flying commercial!

Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek were spotted boarding a commercial flight in Mexico City last week, sparking buzz online after a video of the moment went viral.

The two actresses kept it low-key as they chatted casually on the jet bridge en route to Veracruz. Salma opted for a comfy look in a gray sweatsuit layered over a white tank top, while Angelina stayed true to her signature style, wearing a cream trench coat over a white blouse with loose-fitting trousers and carrying a large tote bag.

According to reports, when fans initially asked for a photo, the stars politely declined—but later posed for pictures while walking through the terminal and during their meal.

Fans gathered on social media to discuss why they weren’t flying on a private jet.

“I’m surprised they didn’t board the plane first, being first class,” said one fan. “I applaud them for flying like this,” wrote someone else. “They don’t take the first class? In Indonesia, if you take first class, you won’t face the crowd like this,” noted another person. “Honestly, I thought they were way above commercial flights and queuing,” wrote another fan.

The duo have been friends for years and have even worked on projects together.

Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek’s Friendship

In 2021, Hayek and Jolie shared the screen in The Eternals, and last year, Hayek took the lead in Jolie’s drama Without Blood.

The mother of one told People in 2024 that the pair “hang[ing] out sometimes with the kids, but also by ourselves…I always find it super inspiring. A friend was telling me, ‘It’s the same life whether you laugh or cry.’ And it’s nice to have a friend where you can laugh and cry… and feel always safe.”

“I was surprised, even though we are very close and stuff, but I was [surprised by] how warm and generous and kind [Angelina] was as a director to the actors. I felt like she was my motherly figure because she would come to the set and run it like a family. She was a very efficient mother, but she was also there emotionally every step of the way,” she added.
