Your pantry is stocked with chia seeds and you’ve acquired a taste for bone broth since hearing about how great it is for your skin. We see you, salute you, and are cheering you on from the sidelines, with our very own plate of omega-3-rich salmon in hand. But food boredom is a real thing, and it keeping yourself in the same old loop with foods may eventually result in choosing tastier, often over processed options, just to get some food fun in your life.

If you’re bored with all of the healthy foods you’ve been told you should enjoy for more radiant, youthful-looking skin and want to try something out-of-the-box, one TikToker with a gorgeous complexion has three fresh ideas.

berries

1. Berries

Perhaps the least surprising food on our list? Berries. Whether your berry of choice is blueberries, strawberries, or blackberries, all berries are amazing or your skin because they contain antioxidants and flavonoids that help neutralize skin cell-damaging free radicals. This sweet food also helps being oxygen to the cells. As Zara points out, two key reasons our skin could be showing signs of aging is because it isn’t getting enough hydration or oxygen. Eating berries helps with both. Throw a few in your smoothie or eat them in Greek yogurt or oatmeal.

2. Mushrooms

Mushrooms like chana and reishi can help with anti-aging and give you “the botox-looking effect.” These mushrooms are rich in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties that can calm skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Reishi mushrooms even have adaptogenic properties and can balance the body’s hormone levels and stress responses, which can keep your skin clear. You don’t necessarily have to eat mushrooms whole, either. There are a number of powdered mushroom supplements that can be added to smoothies, water, and even coffee.

palo-azul-tea

3. Palo Azul Tea

This tea is “amazing” because it’s high in flavonoids and antioxidants, plus it boasts detoxifying properties that help cleanse the liver and kidneys. This anti-inflammatory tea is known to aid in digestion and blood sugar regulation and can keep skin clear, smooth, and more youthful-looking.

Break up the monotony of your usual green tea and try a soothing cup of Palo Azul tea for health and skin benefits.
