Teas are the closest thing we have to magical elixirs. While there is no one food or beverage that will instantly burn fat and make pounds come right off, metabolism-boosting ingredients like tea can help.
Perhaps you’ve heard, over and over again, about the benefits of drinking green tea. If you’re ready to try something new, this is the one anti-inflammatory tea that basically flushes belly fat for a smaller stomach, according to nutritionists.

Oolong Tea
Move over, green and black teas. Oolong tea is the delicious, aromatic tea strain you may not have tried just yet that contains metabolism-boosting catechins and antioxidants.
Although it’s nowhere near as popular as green tea, oolong is a traditional Chinese tea that’s made from the same plant as green and black teas. And it provides many of the same benefits.

Oolong is partially oxidized, which means it provides a nice compromise between green tea’s lighter taste and black tea’s bolder flavor.
According to Healthline, oolong tea contains theaflavins, thearubigins and EGCG. These tea polyphenols are responsible for increasing your metabolism, decreasing the amount of fat you absorb from foods, and protect your cells against damaging free radicals.

Oolong tea is also rich in certain nutrients and contains slightly more caffeine than green tea, which also helps boost your metabolism and increase calorie and fat burning.
You can expect to benefit from these oolong tea nutrients in every brewed cup:
Fluoride: 5–24% of the RDI.
Manganese: 26% of the RDI.
Potassium: 1% of the RDI.
Sodium: 1% of the RDI.
Magnesium: 1% of the RDI.
Niacin: 1% of the RDI.
Caffeine: 36 mg.

Of course, as with all teas, the weight loss benefits you can expect are minimal (though worth a cup or two each day). To lose weight and burn fat more effectively, make sure you are eating plenty of protein, unrefined carbs, and healthy fats, as well as exercising and getting enough sleep.
