According to Page Six, the 52-year-old Gone Girl actor was "spotted" hanging out with Kick Kennedy, 36, less than one week after the 55-year-old "On The Floor" hitmaker filed for divorce. An insider reportedly told the outlet that the pair was seen at the Beverly Hills Hotel's Polo Lounge, among other places, earlier this month.
However, another insider tried to shut down those rumors, and told Us Weekly: "Ben is not dating Kick." The source added that the Argo actor "might know her in passing," but said that they definitely aren't dating as Affleck is "not dating anyone." Who Is Kick Kennedy?
The last name does indeed give it away, as Kick Kennedy – born Kathleen Alexandra Kennedy – is a member of the famous Kennedy family. She is Robert F. Kennedy's eldest daughter (her mom is his first wife, Emily Ruth Black) and the second of his six children. She reportedly got her nickname 'Kick' from her great-aunt Kathleen 'Kick' Kennedy.
As for her romantic life, Kick was romantically linked to Paul Simon's son Harper Simon from 2013 to 2014. She also dated billionaire bank heir Matthew Mellon until his death in 2018 at the age of 54.
Kick was reportedly "heartbroken" when he passed away, with her manager reportedly telling People at the time: "She is heartbroken, shocked. She didn't see this coming. She is devastated and will not be making comment."
Kick Kennedy Started Out Acting, But Then Turned To A Career In Philanthropy
Kick – who some people say bears a resemblance to Affleck's ex-wife Jennifer Garner – stayed out of the public eye for the majority of her life, and studied history and theatre at Stanford University. She continued to work on acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in West Hollywood, and took on some small roles in TV shows including Curb Your Enthusiasm and Gossip Girl, the latter of which saw her playing herself.
According to People, Kick stopped acting after 2012 and focused on a career in philanthropy, particularly finding a solution to water shortages and other environmental causes.
"I've been really connected to water issues since I can remember, as my father made it his passion," she previously told Resident. "We knew what PCPs were before we knew how to tie our shoes. I've also spent so much time on the water, whether it's sailing with friends and family or doing a river cleanup on the Hudson."
