1. Start With A Primer
If you're struggling to find the best way to apply concealer to hide fine lines, experts say that the first mistake you're making is that you're not using a primer. "Applying primer as a makeup base is the key to softening wrinkles,” Jaclyn Peresetsky, a makeup artist and co-owner of Skin Perfect Clinic in Ohio, tells WebMD.

Another mistake that most women over 40 make is applying concealer under the entire eye area. Instead, makeup artist Nick Barose says that it's best to only add product where you need coverage. "It’s not about using [concealer] to cover and getting rid of everything," he says. 3. Always Finish With A Setting Powder
