Beyoncé took home two American Music Awards yesterday, but not all of her fans are happy for her. With Cowboy Carter, the artist won Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album, but those that consider themselves “true” country fans don’t think she should’ve even been nominated. Keep reading for more information.
Beyoncé Wins Favorite Female Country Artist
Beyoncé is a well-decorated singer, with 35 Grammys to date, but she's only just now dipping her toes into the country music with her album Cowboy Carter, which has already won two Grammys (Album of the Year and Best Country Album).
The mother-of-three wasn't in town to receive the awards herself, likely because she's on the Cowboy Carter Tour right now, but it's probably for the best, because many country music fans thought she wasn't deserving of either award.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X, formerly Twitter, country music fans are letting their opinions be heard. "Beyoncé is not country at all," one person wrote, while another said, "What a hoke. Bought by her husband."
"Beyoncé winning favorite country album is laughable!" commented another.
"Whoever is picking Beyoncé clearly doesn't listen to country music," added a fourth.
"Beyoncé winning is ridiculous!" said another.
"What a slap in the face to all the female country artists who bleed country music every single day," one user said.
"Beyoncé ain't country and will never be!!!!" a final person said. "Give those awards to Lainey Wilson, she deserves it all!"
