Blake Lively gave fans a glimpse into her beauty routine as a busy working mom, but the actress had a funny wardrobe mishap when she realized she had spent the entire video with the button of her pants undone. Despite the hilarious blunder, users online found the entire routine “manufactured.”

Lively began the Instagram Reel with minimal makeup and her outfit already on. A text overlay on the video read, “The look: no time but need to look cute while also raising children.”

The Gossip Girl alum then went through her beauty routine, styling her hair with products from her Blake Brown haircare line and applying her makeup.

Blake Lively Forgets To Button Her Pants In New Reel

But as she stepped back from the camera to reveal her finished look, the It Ends With Us actress suddenly noticed that her jeans were still unbuttoned.

The mom of four laughed at the wardrobe malfunction before quickly fastening them.

“Buttoning your pants is always a nice touch,” she typed out in the video.

Online, fans thought the 39-year-old was doing too much and being performative.

“Who wants the beauty routine of a bully?” asked one critic under a Daily Mail article.

“Trying hard to be a relatable ‘mom.’ Please,” another said.

Someone else commented, “Oh please. She just desperately wants to seem relatable, so she gives us a manufactured, ‘Stars! They’re just like us!’ moment.”

The beauty post comes as Lively continues to make headlines over her legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

Blake filed a complaint against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her following their work together on the film. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a $400M countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in January 2025. In May 2026, both sides agreed to settle out of court.

The legal dispute also brought attention to Lively’s friendship with Taylor Swift after Baldoni’s legal team referenced text messages involving the singer and Blake. Baldoni’s team sought to depose Swift, but a judge later rejected the request.

Taylor Swift Reportedly Revokes Being Godmother To Blake's Children

After the legal drama, reports have also claimed that Lively’s relationship with the Grammy winner has deteriorated. Swift was previously named godmother to Lively and Reynolds’ daughters, James, Inez and Betty, and has referenced the children in her music.

Swift also included James’ voice in her song “Gorgeous” and referenced the names James, Inez and Betty on her Folklore album.

But now, insiders say she has revoked being godmother to the kids. “It was very emotional because she loves the girls,” a source previously told the Daily Mail, referring to Swift’s relationship with Lively and Reynolds’ daughters. “It hurt her heart, but she had no choice given the circumstances.”

The source claimed Swift “wanted to make a clean and total break.”

Despite the drama surrounding her personal life, Lively’s latest Instagram post kept things much lighter, with the actress poking fun at herself over an all-too-relatable fashion mistake.
