It’s no secret that Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship hasn’t been the same since her lawsuit drama, but now it appears that it’s beginning to affect the relationship the singer has with her friend’s children.
An insider came forward to report that the Eras Tour star has ‘revoked’ her title of godmother to the Gossip Girl icon’s three daughters due to their latest falling-out. The source alleged that Taylor began distancing herself from the famous family months ago, as a result of the drama and tension Blake’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni caused, given that her name was roped into it. Though insiders stated it ‘hurt’ Taylor to make this move, she did it anyway amid the fallout. Read more about the situation below.

Blake Lively's Justin Baldoni Lawsuit Reportedly Put A Strain On Her Friendship With Taylor Swift
It's no secret that one of the biggest celebrity events of the last two years was the legal drama and court battles between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who both starred in the film It Ends With Us. The experience heavily impacted the performers' careers and, according to insiders, ruined their once-tight friendship.
The "Midnights" singer was pulled into the legal drama after Justin, the director's legal team subpoenaed her, while text messages later shed more light on how she was involved in Blake's story regarding the film. Sources ended up telling media outlets that due to all of this, their friendship had come to a sudden halt, adding that Taylor wanted no part in the drama, and others later noting that they had decided to keep their distance from each other for a while.
The reported tension marked a major shift for the longtime friends, who had been close for years and frequently spent time together with their families. The mom-of-four and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, were also part of the singer's inner circle, but they didn't even attend her wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden earlier this summer.

Taylor Allegedly No Longer Considers Herself Godmother To Blake & Ryan's Daughters
Amid the reported falling apart of their friendship, a source recently came forward to allege that the Grammy-winner was also considering stepping away from her role as godmother to Blake and Ryan's children. Over the years, the high-profile friends have shared that Taylor identifies as the godmother to the couple's three daughters, James, Inez and Betty, with Ryan officially confirming the role in 2024.
Additionally, Taylor has made hints at how close she is to the little ones, even inserting the three girls' names into one of her hit songs off her album Folklore, "Betty." According to the report, the situation was reportedly especially difficult because of the children's connection to Taylor.
"She loves the girls, and it hurt her, but she had no choice given the circumstances," the source told Radar Online. "She wanted to make a clean and total break."
The insider also described the situation as "so sad for the kids," subtly solidifying that the situation stemmed from the reputation- and friendship-damaging legal drama that has seemingly affected those relationships for years to come.
