Season 28 of The Voice is premiering next month with Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé as coaches; but fans already can’t contain their excitement for Season 29 of the singing competition due to the return of a certain Miss Kelly Clarkson!
Season 29 of The Voice currently has the “Since U Been Gone” singer, who has won four times, as a coach, as well as other winning coaches John Legend and Adam Levine. This will be the first time in the show’s history that will have just three instead of four coaches, and the season is being marketed as ‘The Battle of the Champions.’
'The Voice' Bosses Wanted Adam Levine And Blake Shelton Back Together For Season 29: 'Their Chemistry Is Unmatched'
However, it wasn't always meant to be three coaches, as bosses were reportedly desperate to have Blake Shelton back following his shocking departure after Season 23.
They reportedly wanted the Maroon 5 singer and the "Gods Country" singer back on the same panel for Season 29, and were willing to do whatever it took to make it happen. Sadly, while the "She Will Be Loved" singer was happy to return, the "Boys 'Round Here" crooner, who has won as coach nine times, declined.

"They offered both Blake and Adam more money, a lot more, to get them back together and do a season together," spilled an insider, as per the U.S. Sun.
"Obviously it didn't work out for Season 29 but stay tuned – it might happen sooner than later," they continued, adding: "It'd be a win/win for production and the fans."
"Their chemistry is unmatched," they noted. "[The show] hasn't been able to replicate it with anyone else since." We may not have Blake Shelton, but we still have high hopes for the show now that the Kelly Clarkson Show host will be returning alongside Legend and Levine.

"You can't do a battle of champions without Blake. I mean… come on," declared a fourth, as a fifth concurred: "Would have been cool if @blakeshelton were coach #4!" "It won't be the same without all time winner, Blake Shelton," said a sixth.
