Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have been seemingly delighted with their current spouses after their divorce shocked country music fans. However, their recent performances at the Academy Of Country Music Awards have fans thinking they’re still on each other’s minds.

Fans of the famous country musicians were buzzing on the internet after they each sang songs that may have been about each other during the televised music awards ceremony last week. Although they divorced in 2015 and have notably gotten remarried, they’ve made it clear that their split was no easy feat and made a mark on them. The performances have people recalling when Blake stated that he wouldn’t be able to “get over” Miranda two years before they called it quits. Fans Think Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Were Singing About Each Other At The 2025 ACM Awards

The 60th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards happened at the end of last week on Thursday, May 8th, in Frisco, Texas, and some of country music's biggest stars were in attendance for a night of live performances and many awards. While musicians like Lainey Wilson took home a bunch of awards, two other stars ended up being highly talked about after the show aired: Blake and Miranda.

The former couple, who were married from 2011 to 2015, were once one of the most famous couples in the entertainment industry, given they were two country stars in love while managing their successful careers. Therefore, when they announced they were getting a divorce in 2015, fans were shocked, especially as there were cheating rumors circulating about their split. Since then, each singer has moved on, with Blake famously marrying Gwen Stefani in 2021 and Miranda marrying a former NYPD officer, Brendan McLoughlin, in 2019.

Despite any drama or rumors surrounding their divorce, they continued to speak highly of each other, and it had been a while since they acknowledged their marriage. That is, until last week, as fans speculated that their performances at the ACM Awards were about each other.

Miranda took the stage in a pink suit last Thursday to sing a rendition of her song, "Run," from her 2024 album Postcards From Texas. Since its release, fans have believed the ballad is about her split from Blake, as she sings about holding onto a relationship for "dear life" and running away from a relationship that made her "unhappy." That same evening, Blake got on stage and sang his song, "Texas," where he sings about the woman who "cut him loose," likely going off to Texas, where "all them exes go." The performances of the breakup-related songs had country music fans shaken up, especially given that both musicians were in the audience that night.

"That's gotta be awkward," wrote a fan on a TikTok video regarding them "singing about each other."

Interview Of Blake Saying He 'Couldn't Get Over' Miranda Resurfaces After Their ACM Award Performances

Watching the two award-winning vocalists sing songs that may have been about their former relationship has many internet users reflecting on their time together and how solid they seemed. Despite them seeming very content with their new partners, the end of their marriage clearly made a significant impact.

The recent interaction between Blake and Miranda has caused a 2013 interview with the "Boys 'Round Here" singer to resurface, as he spoke about the cheating allegations made against him and how much he cherished his wife to Gayle King for CBS This Morning.

He revealed that he got a kick out of reading tabloid articles about him and the Texas native, especially ones that accused him of cheating on her, as he joked about the stories giving each of them more attention and press, which could potentially push their album sales. He also noted that he didn't think their fans would be "buying into it."

When Blake was asked about the earlier days of their love and if he ever had any doubts about them ending up together, he responded, "I just could not imagine her not being in my life. I just couldn't get over her; I know I can't."

Looking back on his words, which were said just two years before he and Miranda announced their divorce, is a little shocking. Still, seeing how happy they look in their new relationships has some fans assured that they did the right thing, although others miss when they were together.

"This is how country music and songs are made," another TikTok fan wrote. "Through our love, our loss, and everything in between."
