It’s been a crazy 2018 for Carrie Underwood. The singer has been recovering from a scary fall at her home that left her with a broken wrist and needing 40-50 stitches on her face.
“Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,” Carrie’s rep said on her behalf when the accident happened back in Nov. 2017. “While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall.”
Now, we’re learning that she’s struggling with anxiety following the fall and that she’s been undergoing treatment to help ease her nerves.
“She is battling her nerves and insecurities about how her face looks by seeing a team of doctors and the work they have been doing has helped alleviate her anxiety,” a source tells Hollywood Life.
Carrie’s also been seeing new dermatologists and learning new tricks to conceal the scar. “Carrie has been going to the best dermatologists in Beverly Hills seeking treatments to reduce the horrible scar on her face,” the source continues. “Along with her doctors, Carrie has been consulting with her glam squad, updating her routine, to better deal with the imperfections left by her injury.”
Thankfully, Carrie has such a great support team at home. Her husband, Mike Fisher, has been helping her get back on her feet while she heals. “Her husband Mike has been by her side every step of the way,” another insider tells Hollywood Life. “He’s been loving and supporting her through the injury, and has even been making her laugh about it.”
They even revealed that he’s been going to her doctor appointments and telling her that she looks “beautiful as ever.” Aw!!
So, when will we finally see Carrie perform again? The country singer has recently started posting on social media after her recovery, sharing glimpses of her life and promoting her new single “The Champion.” But, it appears that she’s still a little apprehensive about taking selfies and sharing her new appearance with fans. The source explains that she’s almost ready to step into the limelight again.
“She knows she can’t live in hiding forever, so Carrie is doing everything she can so that the imperfections on her gorgeous face will be hardly noticeable when she makes her public comeback,” the source says.
We're happy to hear that Carrie's doing well and we're sure she's going to make an incredible comeback when she's ready!
