Cher just confirmed that she is officially dating 36-year-old music executive Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years her junior, after the pair were spotted holding hands when they were out for dinner at celebrity fave, Craig’s, earlier this week. Their romance is believed to be in its very early stages, with reports suggesting that they first got to know each other at the Rick Owens Spring 2023 show during Paris Fashion Week back in September.

The 76-year-old music legend confirmed the romance by posting a picture of her new beau to her Twitter account captioned, “Alexander,” followed by a red heart emoji. She addressed some of the criticism from dubious Twitter users by writing, “Love doesn’t know math, it sees [red heart emoji] [red heart emoji]” although this tweet has since been deleted.

Who Is Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards?
Edwards is a music producer who owns the record label and clothing line Gloryus, and is also the vice president of artists and repertoire at Def Jam, having worked with the likes of Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, and Kanye West to name just four. People also reports that he is an artist on Tyga’s label, Last Kings Records. Before coupling up with the “Strong Enough” singer, Edwards was in a relationship with Ye’s ex-girlfriend, Amber Rose. Edwards and Rose share three-year-old son Slash together, with their relationship coming to an end in 2021 when she accused him of cheating on her with 12 women. *Omg!*
Edwards actually owned this during an Instagram Live in August 2021, saying: “[Expletive] I got caught. I got caught before, you know? And she’s had enough, obviously. I love her, though. That’s like, my best friend, the mother of my son. I love my stepson, too, but…. I like women.” It’s interesting that he didn’t deny it, and then added: “It’s just who I am, and it’s not how she wants to be loved.”

Understandably, given the 40-year age gap and Edwards' previous history of infidelity, Cher's fans were a little concerned about the relationship, with many of them questioning the music exec's intentions with the "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer. One fan took to Twitter and said: "I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’ve been a fan for so long that I’m immediately suspicious of his intentions towards you. WE know you are fabulous and I’m sure your inner circle will continue to have your back. Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of!"

Cher Responds To Criticism On Twitter
The "Believe" hitmaker was quick to defend her romance on the social media platform, and responded to her fans' concerns by writing: "As we All Know… I WASN'T BORN YESTERDAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am."

And despite a lot of criticism, many of Cher's fans flocked to Twitter to show their support. "These smiles are what matters!" one fan replied to Cher's above message, alongside a picture of her and Alexander. "Cher looks happy. Isn't that what matters most?" asked another fan. "Who cares what others think? It’s really none of your business. I’ve not cared what others think of me all of my life. Blessings to you and Alexander," another fan wrote on Cher's previous post, followed by the two heart emoji.

Edwards isn’t the only much younger man that Cher has dated. Turns out, she is quite fond of dating men who are much younger than her, and previously dated the likes of Val Kilmer (between 1982 and 1984) and Tom Cruise (in 1985) to name just two of the most well-known younger lovers.
