Bridesmaids have more to do on your wedding day than simply standing next to you and smiling. Your best girls are also there to make life less stressful for you during the ceremony and reception. One very important way they can do that is by carrying some of your must-have items for you on the big day.

Here are eight important things you want within arm’s reach at this important event:

Your Cellphone

"The main thing a bride should not have is her cellphone," says Stephanie Brown of Off the Beaten Path. "If the bride feels the absolute need to have it or must have it, a bridesmaid or their maid of honor should be carrying it on the day of their wedding and have it handy when the bride wants or needs it.

A Touch-Up Kit

The bride will need a mini touch-up kit with lipstick, concealer, powder, etc. to make sure she is looking her best throughout the day, says Katelyn McCullough of Elwynn + Cass.

aspirin

Some Aspirin

"Many people might have headaches because of dehydration or stress so it's always nice to have some over the counter medicine ready," says Joanna Kwok of Honour and Blessing Events.

bobby pins

Extra Bobby Pins

Bobby pins will come in handy to keep the bride's hair and veil in place throughout the day.

Spare Tissues

A bridesmaid should have them at the ready, so the bride doesn’t need to constantly ask for them, says Caleb Backe of Maple Holistics. "You’re going to need them--all of you, so have them close by."

tampons

Emergency Tampons

You can't control when Aunt Flo comes for a visit, so the bride might need one of her bridesmaids to carry some tampons for her. Even if the bride doesn't need one, there might be someone in the bridal party who does, so it's a good idea to keep some on hand.

A Mini Emergency Kit

Accidents happen, so someone should be carrying a kit with tweezers, tape, sewing kit and the like, says McCullough.

Mints

A Couple Of Mints

Mints will be better than gum if the bride needs a quick breath freshener, says Kwok. Mints won't get in the way of photos or ruin any video footage!
