Now that the Covid-19 vaccine is available at Costco (pending eligibility) many people are wondering how to secure one of the coveted appointment spots. The good news is you can do it online!

The Covid-19 vaccine has been available at the wholesale chain locations since the announcement on February 27th, and is currently being offered at locations in six states: California, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Washington.

The company said in a statement at the time, “Costco is offering a limited number of COVID-19 vaccines, typically Moderna, in select locations. Our pharmacies will be administering COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they are available, in accordance with CDC and state guidelines.”

First, check whether you are eligible in your state (duh). Costco even created a tool for that on their website.

As the vaccination roll-out is mainly being done on the state level, how exactly to book your Covid vaccine appointment at Costco will depend on the state. In parts of Oregon, for example, appointments can be booked on the Costco website. Yes, it’s that easy!

In other states, you can only schedule your Costco vaccine slots via your state's health department website.

The one thing you should never do is call up your local Costco and ask for an appointment. The company has said, "Please do not contact the local Costco pharmacy as they are unable to schedule an appointment or provide current eligibility requirements. Check back frequently for updates."

Know your area. In California, residents in Los Angeles County, Marin County, Riverside County, San and Bernardino County can get the vaccine at Costco.

In New York, only residents of New York City can get the vaccine at Costco.

In Oregon, there are many cities: Albany, Aloha, Bend, Central Point, Clackamas, Eugene, Hillsboro, Portland, Roseburg, Salem, Tigard, Warrenton and Wilsonville.

In South Carolina, the retailer has stated that if there are no appointments available at Costco, it won't come up as a location in the state's vaccine finder tool. Well, that could be confusing!
