When you have an iPhone, you’re already set up with various types of apps that you might notice get less and less useful over time.
One of the key ways to keep an iPhone running smoothly is to ensure you have enough storage and save your battery; therefore, it’s always a good idea to clear out any preinstalled apps that are of no use to you. To keep your phone in the best shape possible and free up some extra space, we’re listing four preinstalled apps that will likely serve no purpose to you. Read more about them below.
1. News
Many iPhone users feel the preinstalled News app doesn't add much value to their experience, as it mainly shows broad, generic stories that can be found on almost any website. The app also recommends sources you may not follow or trust, and adjusting the settings to personalize it takes extra time. Since most people already get updates from their favorite news sites, social media, or email subscriptions, the News app often goes unused and doesn't offer anything especially helpful.

Other Warning Signs To Look Out For
In addition to turning off access to your microphone for certain apps, there is something else you can look out for while using your iPhone in particular.
"If you ever notice at the tip top of your iPhone, a little tiny orange dot, that means something is accessing your microphone," explained Knutsson, referencing the small orange dot that appears in the upper right corner of an iPhone screen.
"So if you're not on a call or you're not on FaceTime, or you're not using an app where you're actively talking through it, I would say you'd better check this list," he continued. "Also, if your phone ever has malware, which they do, even iPhones, scammers are listening to you, period. So how do you get rid of them? You just constantly look through this list."

3. GarageBand
Many iPhone users feel GarageBand isn't very useful because its primary purpose is to provide music production tools that most people don't need to use in daily life. Additionally, if you're a professional or avid music creator and songwriter, chances are, you can use a better platform for your songs. The app takes up a large amount of storage, and it often stays untouched.

4. Tips
The Tips app is meant to teach users how to use different iPhone features through short guides, pop-ups, and mini tutorials. It educates users on things like new iOS updates, shortcuts, basic settings, and helpful tools they might not know about. Although it sounds useful and can be beneficial to those who are brand new to using an iPhone, most users do not use it. Many users feel it doesn't offer anything they actually need day-to-day, especially since most iPhone features are easy to learn through quick searches.
