Donald Trump is facing backlash after a viral video showed him seemingly praising violence against a protestor at one of his rallies. The president’s reaction has sparked outrage online, with critics questioning how he could describe the incident as “great” rather than condemning the behavior. Keep reading for more information.

Donald Trump Calls Violence At His Rally 'Great'
The incident took place on Wednesday, October 21, at a rally held in Clemson, South Carolina, where Trump was campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Darline Graham. During his remarks, several protesters interrupted the event, prompting boos from the crowd and repeated interventions from security. At one point, a demonstrator was being escorted out of the venue when a rally attendee appeared to punch him.
Trump noticed the altercation from the stage and reacted enthusiastically as the crowd began cheering. "That was great, man. Wow. Man, I loved that," Trump said, before asking the crowd, "Who's the guy that threw the punch?"
He then compared the attendee to former heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield, who was also in attendance, saying, "You know, you reminded me of Evander, 'The Real Deal,' Holyfield that way."
Trump went on to describe how the protester had been struck, adding, "You gotta give them credit. It takes courage to do that at a Trump rally." He also referred to the demonstrator as "a very unattractive looking guy" while recounting the incident, drawing laughter from the audience.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users were horrified to see the display of violence in the first place, and even more appalled by Trump's positive reaction to it. "I can't believe this is our country, I'm ashamed of it," one user wrote on Instagram.
"The normalization of violence by the POTUS is insane," wrote another.
"They're so violent," added another, referring to Trump's supporters.
"Once upon a time, there was a dream called America... then came the most IMMORAL politician in the world: in just a few years, he has destroyed America's image globally and is steering the country toward the abyss of war...," another user posted.
"It's so disturbing and scary as they chant USA," noted another.
"What is wrong with our country that people are applauding violence at a political rally?" asked another. "This administration has divided our country more than the secessionists of 1860! Disgusting..."
"This is how it starts, violence starts to become normalized until it happens right in front of you and no one bats an eye," a final user warned.
