Last week, Donald Trump made a speech from the Oval Office about a potential military strike in the Middle East, discussing whether or not US allies would be involved. Over the course of the extensive address, Trump contradicted himself several times, leading many viewers to claim that he’s “mentally unwell” and certainly “declining.” Keep reading for more information.

Donald Trump Contradicts Himself In White House Speech
When first discussing another potential military strike in the Middle East, Trump was pro-allies. "We want them to come and help us with the strike," he said at one point, referencing US alliances.
About 40 minutes later, he took a different stance: "We don't need anybody. We are the strongest nation in the world," he argued. "We have the world's strongest military by far. We don't need them!"
For many American citizens who didn't want to go to war in Iran, hearing Trump contradict himself about what the next step in the war effort should be was not reassuring, and many expressed their fury over having a "mentally unstable" person hold such an important office.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users reacted to Trump's speech, calling it "rambling" and "unnecessary."
"Why does he even make speeches like this?" one person asked. "All he's done is ramble and contradict himself."
"I can't believe the nation can watch him in such a steady mental decline and do nothing about it," wrote another. "This is why no one takes us seriously."
"It's like every day he sets out to prove he's mentally unwell," added the next.
"He is obviously declining," agreed another user. "It's painfully obvious he's suffering from some form of dementia."
"I would call it elder abuse if he didn't bring it on himself," a final user joked.
