Gut Health Could Mean Fewer Health Problems

In addition to affecting your energy, mood, and digestion, keeping your gut bacteria healthy can help prevent inflammation, which can lead to more serious diseases and conditions.

“It appears the gut microbiome largely regulates the inflammatory response, acting like a thermostat, up-regulating and down-regulating to protect us from harmful bacteria, pathogens, and toxins,” Berndt says. “This dynamic balance is important and may have implications for the development of gastrointestinal diseases such as Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel disease, and colorectal cancer.”

Well, you can't just put anything in your stomach and expect it to take away your nausea (unless you're nauseous from hunger), you have to choose stomach-soothing foods that will help calm your nausea down. Teas are great for combating nausea, but there are also foods that help, too! There's one food in particular that's extrmeely popular for getting rid of nausea, can you guess what it is?

crackers

Saltine crackers are great for getting rid of nausea! They help by absorbing stomach acid, helping your queasy tummy calm down. Eating a few of these before bed will help your stomach calm down and let you have a good night's sleep!

Starchy foods are overall great for comabting nausea, so other foods that can help calm your nighttime nausea include toast and plain bread. Just make sure you don't load them in butter or other toppings, since those can actually irritate your stomach even more!
