Kylie Jenner is currently under fire for not only her habit of flying in private jets, but also for ‘bragging’ about them, as many fans are criticizing. The billionaire beauty mogul, 24, posted a black-and-white photo last week of her hugging beau Travis Scott, 31, while standing in-between two jets. In her caption, Jenner wrote, “you wanna take mine or yours?”
Normalise shaming billionaires for flying in private jets because that shit emits in a one hour flight what a car emits in a whole entire year hhhhh https://t.co/JjPJLyRb4o

That same week, a Twitter account that tracks celeb flights (@CelebJets) posted one of Jenner’s recent plane routes that showed she flew 17 minutes in the air to avoid a 45-minute drive, and as Forbes writes, “belching carbon emissions over the skies of California” in the process. Considering the current state of the planet, Twitter and Instagram users began expressing their “anger” and “disappointment” at Jenner and her casual use of something that so heavily impacts greenhouse gas emissions and the climate.
This is not “the new normal”. The climate crisis will continue to escalate and get worse as long as we stick our heads in the sand and prioritise profit and greed over people and planet. We are still sleepwalking towards the edge. https://t.co/BNp35yU8lS

It’s not just Kylie Jenner, y’all. @CelebJets peels back the curtain on the wasteful private flights of the rich & famous. The top 0.1% really are burning our earth to the ground.

“Kylie Jenner: full time climate criminal. These jets should never be allowed to take off,” wrote one user while another added, “Normalize shaming billionaires for flying in private jets because that s—t emits in a one hour flight what a car emits in a whole entire year.” Others began sharing their experiences in trying to take steps towards “avoiding an imminent climate disaster,” as another tweeted, discussing how “regular people” are often encouraged on social media to “recycle, use cars less, eat less meat, etc.”
In a single hour, a private jet emits 2t of CO2, which is the individual yearly footprint we should be aiming for. On average, a private flights pollutes 10 times more than its commercial alternative. pic.twitter.com/qtn9tYQOAB

You wanna know what’s the worst part of this Kylie Jenner short flight news. Her aircraft N810KJ is on the FAA LADD list, which means she’s trying to hide from being tracked. But yet she’s posting pictures of the plane????

Miss @KylieJenner is coming under fire after the account @CelebJets revealed records that she took a 3 and 12 minute local flight in her private jet. This came after Kylie bragged about her and #TravisScott both having PJ’s on her IG (: @KylieJenner) pic.twitter.com/y8Qzbhekgo

Jenner has not responded to the criticism, and many more continue to tweet statistics and graphics showing just how hot this summer has been and will continue to get in the near future. As one other user noted, “one hour in a private jet equals 4 times the carbon footprint of a FULL year of air conditioning, and I’m the one asked to put insulation in my house.”
