Consumers who shop for snacks at Target and other major retailers may want to check their pantry after a popular mini donut product was recalled over an undeclared milk allergen.
The Better Bakehouse Snack Company announced on August 24 that it is recalling certain lots of Donutful Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Cake Donuts because the product may contain milk that is not listed on the packaging. The recalled donuts were distributed nationwide to retailers and were also sold through Amazon.com.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, people with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity could face a serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the affected product.

Which Donuts Are Being Recalled?
The recall applies specifically to Donutful Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Cake Donuts, sold as 10 mini donuts in a 7.05-ounce carton containing five individual 1.41-ounce (40-gram) pouches.
Consumers can identify the recalled product using the following information:

The FDA said the affected lot was manufactured and distributed in March 2026 and was shipped to retailers nationwide, as well as sold online through Amazon.
One Allergic Reaction Reported
The recall was initiated after one allergic reaction was reported in connection with the product. The individual has since fully recovered, according to the company.
The contract manufacturer has reportedly identified the cause of the labeling problem and implemented corrective measures. The company is also working with retailers to remove any remaining affected products from the marketplace.
Consumers who purchased the recalled donuts are advised not to eat them if they have a milk allergy or severe sensitivity.
The company says customers can dispose of the product and obtain a refund from the retailer with a receipt, or return it to the point of purchase for a refund.
