The Viral 'Ozempic Eggs' Recipe Everyone's Trying To 'Support' The Body's 'Natural Fullness'

A simple breakfast made with eggs, Parmesan and butter is going viral as “Ozempic eggs,” with people embracing the recipe as an easy way to make a satisfying, protein-rich meal. But despite the nickname, this dish does not work like Ozempic or contain anything that mimics the medication.

According to Adriana, a clinical nutritionist who shared the recipe, the appeal is instead about supporting the body’s natural satiety signals through a nutrient-dense meal.

What Are ‘Ozempic Eggs’?

The recipe is remarkably simple: three eggs, Parmesan cheese and butter.

Adriana describes the combination as “simple, delicious, and incredibly nourishing,” emphasizing that the meal isn’t intended to replicate the effects of Ozempic.

Instead, the idea is that a meal rich in protein and fat can help promote feelings of fullness, making it easier to feel satisfied after eating.

How Do They Support Fullness?

Ozempic is a prescription medication containing semaglutide. It works in part by mimicking the action of GLP-1, a hormone involved in appetite regulation and blood sugar control. It can also slow gastric emptying.

Food doesn’t produce the same pharmacological effect. However, eating can naturally stimulate hormones involved in satiety.

Adriana explains that protein-rich foods such as eggs and Parmesan can stimulate hormones including GLP-1, PYY and CCK, which are involved in signaling fullness and helping regulate appetite.

That means the meal may help you feel satisfied without claiming to produce the appetite-suppressing effects of a GLP-1 medication.

Why Eggs Make A Good Breakfast

Eggs are also packed with nutrients, making them a convenient way to get several important nutrients in one meal.

They provide high-quality protein and healthy fats, along with nutrients such as:

  • Choline
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin B12
  • Selenium

Protein is particularly useful at breakfast because it can contribute to satiety and help support muscle maintenance when consumed as part of an overall balanced diet.

Parmesan Adds More Than Flavor

The Parmesan isn’t just there to make the eggs taste better. It also contributes additional protein and calcium while adding plenty of flavor to the dish.

Combined with the eggs and butter, it creates a rich, satisfying breakfast that may keep you feeling full for longer than a breakfast that’s primarily made up of refined carbohydrates.

How To Make ‘Ozempic Eggs’

The recipe couldn't be easier. Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Butter

Method: Melt a small amount of butter in a pan, add the eggs and cook them to your preferred consistency. Finish with freshly grated Parmesan and allow it to melt slightly before serving. You can also pair the eggs with fiber-rich foods such as vegetables, fruit or whole-grain toast to create a more balanced meal.

Do ‘Ozempic Eggs’ Actually Work Like Ozempic?

No. The viral nickname can be misleading. While eating protein-rich foods can naturally stimulate GLP-1 and other satiety hormones, the effect is not equivalent to taking a GLP-1 medication. Ozempic produces pharmacological effects that a plate of eggs cannot replicate. The recipe is better viewed as a simple, nutrient-dense breakfast that may help support natural feelings of fullness.

And while eggs and Parmesan can be part of a healthy diet, portion sizes and individual nutritional needs vary. The meal is also relatively high in saturated fat and sodium, particularly when butter and Parmesan are used generously, so it may not be the ideal everyday breakfast for everyone.

Because the recipe is relatively high in saturated fat and sodium, pairing it with fiber-rich foods can make it a more balanced breakfast without changing its protein-rich base.
