If you suffer from inflammation, taking a closer look at your diet is one simple step you can take to start feeling better. Vegetable Oil

Vegetable oil might sound like a healthy option, but the word "vegetable" can be misleading. In fact, using too much of this oil can contribute to increased inflammation.

"Some scientists believe that certain vegetable oils, such as soybean oil, promote inflammation due to their very high omega-6 fatty acid content," Healthline explains.

red meat

Red Meat

Red meat is a great source of protein, but too much of it can be a problem, particularly if you suffer from inflammation.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, "Research shows both processed and red meats are high in saturated fat, which causes inflammation."

nightshade vegetables

Nightshade Vegetables

Not every vegetable will help your body feel its best. Nightshade vegetables, which include white potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, and bell peppers, have the potential to exacerbate inflammation.

According to Medical News Today, "Nightshade foods contain solanine, a chemical which some people believe may aggravate arthritis pain or inflammation." Although the Arthritis Foundation does not agree with this assessment, it's a good idea to avoid these veggies if you notice an increase in inflammation when eating them (or any other food that prompts a similar reaction).
