Meghan Markle is facing fresh scrutiny after sharing a new promotional video for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, with eagle-eyed fans claiming they spotted a few questionable details.

In the short clip, posted to the As Ever Instagram account, the Duchess embraced her signature polished aesthetic in a blue-and-white striped button-down shirt tucked into high-waisted white trousers. She wore her hair down in a center part and kept her makeup natural as she strolled through her garden carrying a woven basket filled with colorful produce.

Meghan Markle Picks ‘Out Of Season’ Fruits & Veggies In White Pants

The basket appeared to include tomatoes, carrots, artichokes, and several large apples. As Meghan walked through the garden, the camera lingered on the overflowing basket before the clip ended.

The post was simply captioned, “A basket full of summer.”

While the video was meant to evoke a fresh, homegrown feel, some social media users questioned whether all of the produce was actually harvested from Meghan’s garden, pointing to what they believed were out-of-season fruits and vegetables.

“It’s not apple-picking season, and homegrown apples do not get that large,” one Reddit user wrote.

Another commented, “Everything she does is contrived and fake.”

“Freshly dug up root vegetables, without dirt… interesting. I’d like to know how,” another person added.

Others joked that the apples looked more like props than freshly picked produce.

“Plastic apples are always in season,” one user quipped.

Another sarcastically wrote, “I wear white trousers and a crisp striped shirt in order to carry a basket of freshly delivered out-of-season fruit and veg around my garden. It gives me something to do.”

Some also questioned the inclusion of artichokes.

“It’s not artichoke season either,” one commenter noted.

Another person speculated, “I swear she just gets her maid to go grocery shopping, then plunks them into her basket. Weird that everything is so clean and brightly polished. And who uses a small basket to pick fruit and veggies? Most people pick all the carrots, all the radishes, etc.”

Others focused on Meghan’s outfit and accessories.

“Who wears jewelry to pick fruits?!” one user asked.

Another concluded, “I think at least some of those items in the basket might be fake—wax-coated plastic prop fruits and vegetables. She’s just making a video for Instagram content, not really selling her lifestyle.”

“The apples are plastic,” another commenter claimed.

Meghan Markle's As Ever Brand To Operate Independently After End Of Netflix Deal

The mom of two's lifestyle brand, As Ever, is entering a new chapter after officially ending its initial development partnership with Netflix.

Moving forward, the brand will operate independently as it shifts its focus toward shelf-stable pantry products, food, and wine, while also preparing to launch Meghan's upcoming cookbook.

"As ever is grateful for Netflix's partnership through launch and our first year," a spokesperson for the brand said. "We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can't wait to share more."

A source close to the company echoed that optimism, saying the actress is embracing the creative process as the business continues to expand.

"It's a really exciting time for As Ever, and Meghan is building the brand alongside her team while enjoying the creative fulfillment that comes with creating something that's so closely aligned with the life she authentically lives," the insider shared. "This year is really about establishing the brand and scaling it."
