And although the 43-year-old Brazilian beauty is blessed with excellent genes – nobody can deny that! – that’s not to say she doesn’t work exceptionally hard on maintaining her super-toned physique too, both in the gym and in the kitchen.

The mom-of-two has regularly spoken out about the importance of healthy and nutritious eating, and has also shared her wisdom with the world in her previous cookbooks. And now that her newest cookbook Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul has finally hit the shelves we are finding ourselves wondering about her diet all over again.

What Else Does Gisele Bündchen Typically Eat In A Day?

As breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, we're interested to know how the supermodel starts her day during the rest of the week. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, which was published on March 18th, Gisele explained that she has "lukewarm water with a little lemon and Celtic salt" first thing in the morning to support the immune system and get her metabolism moving. She then typically eats eggs, avocados, omelets, or frittatas to ensure she has a good intake of protein. However, she said she may sometimes go for a smoothie instead, if that's what she fancies.

And what about the rest of the day? Gisele's diet seems to be mostly natural, and consists of fruits and vegetables, as well as almond paste for protein. Don't expect any white sugar in her diet, as Gisele has deemed it "poison," adding: "There [are] so many other ways you can sweeten your things that are delicious." If you want something sweet, take a leaf out of Gisele's book and go for honey, maple syrup, and dates instead.

Gisele Bündchen Says Changing Her Diet Helped Her Depression And Anxiety

It's not just her body that her healthy and nutritious diet has helped, as Gisele recently opened up about how changing her diet had helped her mentally too. While promoting her new cookbook on the Thursday, March 21st episode of The View, Gisele said she overcame "severe" depression and anxiety when she was younger by changing her diet on the recommendation of a naturopath.

"I had no idea that it was correlated with my lifestyle, and food was a big part of it," she confessed, before going on to talk about suffering with severe anxiety and panic attacks – something which she has previously candidly opened up about.

"I didn't know what to do. One of the worst things about panic attacks is the intense fear that you'll have another one. I wanted to feel better, so I found this amazing naturopath and he said to me, 'Gisele, we have to change your diet.' And I was like, 'Diet, what does that have to do with panic attacks?' And he's like, 'No, it has everything to do with it.'"

The Joias Vivara model continued: "I told him about my day. I drink, I smoke, I have coffee – and he said, 'Listen… stop right there.' He says, 'You're not sleeping. You're in different time zones all the time. You're eating, like, terrible all day.'"

She then explained that the naturopath recommended three things: changing her diet, getting at least eight hours of sleep, and exercising every day. "After having a year and a half of what I would say [was] one of the worst times in my life, everything changed," she recalled. "I became a different person. I started practicing meditation. I started practicing yoga. I started practicing breath work. It was a long journey." And she hasn't looked back since!
