Imagine you and your partner, had the opportunity to both go to a job you loved, all while being together. Pop star Gwen Stefani and country music icon Blake Shelton had just that. Both met on the set of “The Voice”, where they served as judges and mentors to their associative teams competing for the winning title. While it would seem like a little competition would add tension or hinder the relationship, both Stefani and Shelton loved the ability to be together on set and create lasting memories. But like most things, the set up wasn’t guaranteed to be permanent.
For the upcoming season of “The Voice”, Shelton has been offered an extended position as a judge (both him and Adam Levine have been present on the show since the beginning), however Stefani was not asked to return. Being a rotating judge, there was always the possibility of this happening, as Stefani has been a floating judge for many of the show’s seasons.
So! Who will be replacing her?
None other than heart throb, Nick Jonas. Now, we’re not saying Stefani will be ‘Jealous’ of Jonas’ judge position on “The Voice”, but we are willing to bet she will miss working with her team of singers (and Shelton) dearly.
Our hope is that the two continue to work together in other avenues – even if it’s outside of “The Voice”. Just recently, the two put out a wonderful Holiday tune on NBC for Stefani’s Holiday Music Special – “You Make It Feel Like Christmas”.
