From pixie cuts to baby bangs to blunt bobs, Halle Berry can truly pull off any short hairstyle there is. Fans were excited to see the Oscar winner, 55, arrive at the Critics Choice Awards last week with a new ‘do that reminded many of Storm, the classic Marvel character Berry portrayed in 4 X-Men films.
Berry rocked an icy-colored, piecey, layered short cut that was parted to the side . Fans immediately took to Twitter to post side-by-side photos of this look and the iconic hair of her character to point out the similarities. On March 14, Berry tweeted two photos of her in her epic new style with a message to her devotees. “This is for all my beautiful fans that have wanted my short hair back!” she wrote with a firework emoji, “this is for YOU!”

Marvel fans (and of course X-Men lovers) are known to excel in sleuthing, digging and looking for clues in the cinematic universe’s upcoming projects. In the trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans recently set social media ablaze with their guesses that Professor X (played by Sir Patrick Stewart) would appear in the film, which was also reported by Comicbook.com.
Naturally, fans hope to see Berry reunite with her former co-star in the film, out May 6th, for an epic multi-universal joining of the beloved characters. While nothing is for sure, Berry did tell Comicbook.com that she “loved being a part” of superhero franchises throughout her career (who could forget her role as Catwoman?) and that she would “love to revisit” any of those characters again.

While speaking to Deadline about Storm in 2015, Berry said she “loves that character through and through,” and continued, “So if that ever became an opportunity for me, if it’s before I’m 65 years old, I would absolutely do that.” For now, the return of Berry’s Storm is just a rumor, but if she truly is in the film or about to reprise her role, we’ll hear about it sooner than later. In the meantime, we’ll join in on the gushing re: her new style— no one rocks short, icy tresses like Berry, whether as Storm or in real-life!
