Prince William and Prince Harry have a damaged relationship, a new confession reveals. The royal brothers have not spoken in several months, and have a severe rift in their relationship that may take even more time to heal.
According to Omid Scobie, coauthor of Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, “The brothers had not spoken since around the time of the Sandringham summit [on January 13]. Hurt continues to this day.”
Scobie spoke to True Royalty TV, explaining that the distance continued to grow in the months following the summit.
As many cannot forget, Prince Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan Markle announced in early January their decision to step back as senior members of the British family. Shortly after, the couple and their young son Archie relocated to North America.
Harry and Meghan met with the rest of the royal family - Prince William, Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth at the queen's Sandringham estate on January 13 to discuss the terms of the departure. The historic event has since been known as the Sandringham summit.
The royal family was reportedly heartbroken over Harry and Meghan's decision, and is seemingly still hurt.
Scobie said that Prince William is particularly hurt with the fact that his brother and sister-in-law went public with their decision to step away from their royal duties before speaking with the rest of the family.
Harry and Meghan are currently living in Santa Barbra, California. They bought a home earlier this month, after moving from Vancouver to Los Angeles in the time since stepping away from the royal family.
