Applying a full face of makeup is easier said than done. If we’re being completely honest, it can even be a chore sometimes. You’ve got several things to think about such as figuring out the correct foundation for your skin tone, choosing a flattering eyeshadow for your lids, and more. With all that in mind, it’s completely understandable if you’d rather go au naturel.

We get it: There are days when you just don’t feel like putting on that much makeup—and that’s absolutely okay. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to use less products as possible and giving your skin a break. Every so often, it’s nice to keep things simple and fresh. Going for a classic, barely-there, no makeup look will always be a good idea.

So if you’re thinking of giving this look a try, we’ve got you covered. Below, professional makeup artist Margina Dennis shares with us some tips and tricks on how you can master the art of looking fresh with only minimal products involved. Keep reading for more.

Beauty Tips For A Fresh, No Makeup Look

According to Dennis, "Use products that are sheer so that they are easier to blend. Peach, rose, and terracotta shades are universally flattening because they are more neutral, containing both warm and cool tones." She continues, "It should look like a natural flush on the cheek or lips."

For a more youthful look, she also advises that you apply sunscreen on your lips and use a lip exfoliator and lip mask. These will keep your lips hydrated and protected from the sun. Wearing tinted lip balms and stain glosses also fulfill the same purpose.

Dennis also notes, "Avoid using full coverage products as they tend to look heavy which is the opposite of a no makeup look." If you want to keep things light and fresh, steer away from products such as full coverage foundations, concealers, and lipsticks. She adds, "Also, avoid anything too bright on the lips or cheeks."

Check out the list below for some beauty products Dennis uses for a fresh, no makeup look:

Honest Beauty CC Clean with SPF 30 - "This has a hint of color, just enough to even out without looking like you are wearing makeup and has sun protection," she says.

Undone Beauty Water Bronzer and Blush - "These coconut water infused bronzes and blushes come in a full array [of] colors and tones to work with a range of sun tones. [They] look incredibly natural."

E.L.F. Glossy Lip Stain - Dennis shares, "This [has] a subtle sheen with a hint of color."

19/99 Lash Tint Mascara - "This tubing formula lengthens and lifts lashes, giving the appearance of a lash tint," she mentions.
