Is Your iPhone Not Working Like It Used To? You Should Probably Delete These 3 Storage-Wasting Apps

If your iPhone isn’t working properly, some telltale signs will include your device slowing down, not downloading apps with the same speed, and a battery that drains faster and doesn’t charge as easily. A sluggish phone is annoying enough, but when you also notice your device is overheating and experiences apps freezing and storage issues, to boot, you may be tempted to spend money to solve the problem. Unless your battery is old though, buying a new battery won’t solve the problem.

Before you do anything rash, one of the best ways you can help make your phone more effective is also a free way: take a long, hard look at your apps and decide if any can be deleted to help make your phone more efficient. If your iPhone isn’t working the way it used to, you can delete these three apps that are wasting a lot of storage.

1. Games

All games, but especially those with intense graphics, 3D models, and involved sound files take up battery power, storage, and can even store data on your device. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and see which of your games are taking up the most space. Consider deleting them.

2. Messaging Apps

What do messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, iMessage, and WhatsApp have in common? They accumulate large amounts of data and space. If you look at your battery to see which apps are consuming most of it, you may not be surprised to find these apps among the worst offenders. One way to cut down on their consumption of space is by limiting your usage of them to texts and not sending multimedia attachments.

3. Safari

The Safari browser accumulates a ton of data, and more so the more tabs you have open. Safari can collect personal info like names, addresses, telephone numbers, and even credit card information, location data, and browsing activity such as the URLs you visit, page titles, and even the times you visited the page. You can’t delete Safari itself, but you can routinely clear its cache to keep your data from accumulating on the browser. Clear your browser history and website data by going to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
