Ivanka Trump stepped out in a mint-green Sandro power suit for a business meeting in New York City on Wednesday, August 19th. And the look seriously divided fans on social media! Check out some pics here.

While some of the First Daughter’s outfits have previously been slammed on social media for being too revealing or age-inappropriate, her latest look sparked a very different reaction. This time, many critics took issue with the fit, tailoring, and pastel color of the pantsuit, with some branding it “hideous” and “frumpy” among other things.

Ivanka has worn countless pantsuits in the past, as can be seen below, but something about the mint-green Sandro one didn’t seem to sit right with many people on social media!

Ivanka Trump Wears A Divisive Mint-Green Sandro Suit In New York City

The mom-of-three, who shares daughter Arabella, 15, and sons Joseph, 12, and Theodore, 10, with husband Jared Kushner, stepped out in the Sandro suit, which consisted of straight-leg trousers and a matching double-breasted blazer with contrasting white buttons. She finished off the look with sleek white strappy heels and carried a white Backlot tote bag, while seemingly keeping all other accessories and jewelry to a minimum.

And much like Kate Middleton, who is known for re-wearing some of her favorite pieces, this wasn't the first time Ivanka had stepped out in the pastel suit. The 44-year-old previously wore the same Sandro ensemble during her father's first administration, including for a White House meeting back in September 2018. Check out a picture below.

According to the Daily Mail, Ivanka's latest business meeting was connected to Backlot, which describes itself as a company that "connects major film and television productions with commercial real estate landlords." The Backlot branded tote she was carrying naturally fueled speculation about what she could be working on next, although no new role or partnership has publicly been announced at the time of writing.

The meeting comes as Ivanka continues to focus on her family and private-sector projects after stepping away from the White House. She and Kushner relocated to Miami after her father's first term and chose not to return to official White House roles when he began his second administration in 2025.

"I am loving this time with my kids, loving life in Miami and the freedom and privacy with having returned to the private sector," Ivanka previously said of her decision to stay out of politics. And she has certainly kept busy away from Washington! Earlier this month, her "profit-for-purpose" food company Planet Harvest partnered with nonprofit Style Saves for a huge back-to-school event in Miami, helping more than 25,000 local families prepare for the new school year.

Fan Reactions

The reactions to her outfit were not good on social media! "She looks [expletive] terrible," one critic wrote on Threads, followed by five sideways crying laughing emojis. "She looks awful," concurred a second, as a third slammed: "This is the worst I've ever seen her look."

"She is always in the most hideous clothes!" exclaimed a fourth. "Shapeless outfit," criticized a fifth, as a sixth simply called it an "unattractive suit." "This suit is hideous," agreed a seventh. "Looks like a Hillary Clinton suit, only Hillary wears it better," quipped an eighth.

"It looks like my grandmother's suit," joked a ninth, followed by three sideways laughing crying emojis. "That's a frumpy pant suit," added a tenth. "Ill-fitting and terrible color choice for her," criticized an eleventh. "Uses the same tailor as her dad," joked a twelfth.

Others wondered whether Ivanka's sudden return to power dressing could have a deeper meaning. "She wants to be president. Look at how she's dressing," speculated one person. "Is she wearing pastel pantsuits to launch a political career?" questioned another.
