Jason Momoa may be Aquaman, but we think being a father is his most important role of all! He and ex-wife Lisa Bonet welcomed their daughter Lola Iolani Momoa in July 2007, and their son Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa came along in December 2008.
And the A Minecraft Movie actor, 46, was every inch the proud father when watching his son make his acting debut in Dune: Part Three, alongside the one and only Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet.

Jason Momoa Talks About His ‘Proud’ Father Moment On New Podcast Episode
The 16-year-old, who reportedly goes by Wolf, will portray the character Leto II Atreides, the son of Timothée’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani in Dune: Part Three, which is due to hit in theaters on December 18th, 2026. We still have a long way to go until we see it on the big screen, but Momoa already explained how proud he was of his son not only auditioning for the role, but winning it and working on the movie alongside some of Hollywood’s hottest actors.
Momoa recalled how he felt watching his son audition for the role in the movie’s third instalment on the August 11th episode of Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes‘ SmartLess podcast. He was promoting his Apple TV+ series Chief of War while on the show, but he couldn’t help but turn the conversation to his son. Aww!
“I’m doing [expletive] Dune with my son right now,” Momoa said on the podcast. “His first [expletive] scene, I’m sitting there, [expletive] my pants. He’s with Zendaya. He’s in it.”
"My baby, 16 years old. And he just killed it. I'm just crying. I was a [expletive] wreck. I was so proud of him," the Fast X actor gushed, before going on to talk about how much the director appeared to love and be impressed by his son too.
"I'm just there and I'm watching him, and [Dune director Denis Villeneueve] who I [expletive] love dearly, he loves Wolf, and he's just doing a great job," Momoa went on. "It's the craziest feeling," he continued, adding: "You want your kids to just be better than you. I'm like, this [expletive] gonna be, like, he's gonna blow me away."
Of course, Momoa is no stranger to the Dune universe himself. He joined the franchise back in 2021 as Duncan Idaho, the fiercely loyal swordmaster to House Atreides. Although – spoiler alert – his character died in Dune: Part One, he is set to return in Part Three thanks to the books' cloning storyline. This means that the father and son will both be a part of Villeneuve's epic sci-fi saga, making the experience even more special for them. December 2026 can't come soon enough!
