After Dior’s creative director unveiled his latest collection, Jennifer Lawrence appeared to take inspiration straight from the runway—but not everyone was impressed.

At the Die My Love screening during the Rome Film Festival on Monday, the Oscar winner stepped out in an ensemble from Dior’s Spring 2026 ready-to-wear line. The look featured a taupe sweater with black ruched detailing at the neckline and buttoned cuffs, paired with a flowing chiffon maxi skirt in white. The tiered design, complete with bubble hems and a delicate black bow beneath the first tier, added a whimsical, boho-chic touch.

Fans Think Jennifer Lawrence Looks 'A Mess' at Rome Film Festival

The Hunger Games star completed the outfit with black pointed-toe bootie heels, a casual updo with soft bangs framing her face, and makeup that embraced warm fall tones—a glossy brown lip and subtle eyeliner. While she gave the look her own effortless twist, online fashion enthusiasts were divided, with many saying the outfit didn’t flatter her as well as it did on the runway.

Fans were quick to share their opinions, not only criticizing the look but also cracking jokes about it.

“She’s beautiful, but the dress is horrible,” said one fan. Another user wrote, “Me on the weekends walking from the sofa to the fridge and stopping by the mirror.” A third said, “No one on earth would see this outfit and go like, ‘Yup, that’s the one.’ NO ONE.” A fourth wrote, “This is how I walk the dogs when it’s dark outside.” A fifth quipped, “What a mess! She needs to end her partnership with them. They're not elevating her style at all.”

Another person said, “She is stunning, but the dress is awful. Hideous outfit.” One user claimed, “When your stylist secretly hates you.”

Fans Disapprove of Jennifer Lawrence's Latest Street Style Looks

The mother of two has long been hailed as a street-style icon, often spotted in The Row’s minimalist and sophisticated ensembles—think tailored asymmetrical pantsuits, sleek leather coats, effortless flats, and the brand’s signature luxury bags.

However, this year, the actress has faced mounting criticism for a string of unconventional and seemingly mismatched outfits that many fans say “make no sense.”

On September 19, the actress was spotted in New York City wearing oversized La Ligne jeans ($250) that pooled on the sidewalk, paired with a simple black T-shirt from The Row—priced at a steep $520—and a fur shawl draped casually over her shoulders.

Her look may have seemed effortless and laid-back, but the cost was anything but casual.

“This outfit makes no sense,” said one fan. Another user wrote, “She has zero style, whether it be her outfits or hair.” A third commented, “It would have been a great outfit if she had more effort.” A fourth said, “Sorry, not glamorous.” Someone else wrote, “Animals should not be material for clothing.”

In July for a dinner outing, the actress layered a dark purple t-shirt—noticeably stained on one side and with holes—over a navy silk midi dress. To complete the navy-toned aesthetic, she added a pair of sheer chiffon pants underneath.

Fans were baffled by her outfit and left comments on Instagram expressing their reactions.

“Effortless elegance??? Looks like she stepped out of the trailer park on her way to Wal-Mart,” said one user. Another wrote, “She looks like the homeless lady I see at the train station every morning.”
