The très chic film festival is officially underway, after it was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. Its red carpet is known for bringing glitz and glamour worthy of the French Riviera-and this year didn’t disappoint!
Celebs pulled out all the stops in designer wear, which ranged from embellished floor-length gowns to blazers and pantsuits. But the standout look (in our opinion) was Jessica Chastain, who stepped out in one of the sexiest outfits we’ve EVER seen her rock on a red carpet.

The “Molly’s Game” actress was a total goddess as she posed for photographers in a Christian Dior Fall 2019 couture black strapless gown. This dress is giving us major goth vibes-but in the most chic way possible. It featured a cage-like design underneath a sheer material that was decorated with velvet swirls.

Jessica topped off her look with wow-worthy jewelry from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection, including a Fairmined gold necklace (which perfectly complemented the gown’s sweetheart neckline) and a white gold ring. Styling her hair in a low side pony, the star showed off her signature red lip. Slay!

Jessica’s daring gown is proving that the sheer trend is here to stay. While the “Ava” star brought her own spin to the style at Cannes, mesh has been having a moment both on and off the red carpet.
After mesh materials dominated the spring ’21 runways of fashion houses like Fendi and Balmain, A-listers have taken the trend from the catwalks to the sidewalks! Following Jessica’s leads, celebs like Cardi B, the Kardashians and Rihanna have all sported different iterations of sheer ‘fits.
That said, we think Jessica’s take perfectly straddles the line between sexy and goth-making it one of her most memorable looks yet!
