Johnny Depp is known for his character transformations, unafraid to look like an entirely different person on screen, and his upcoming project is no exception.
The famous actor is back in the spotlight, currently in the middle of filming Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, a new rendition of the famous holiday tale. After being photographed on set, fans were able to get a glimpse of him in character, sporting what appeared to be old age makeup, a grizzly, patchy beard, and gray hair poking from underneath a sleeping cap. Many fans could not get over how different he looked, and others expressed their excitement for the film and his return to the silver screen. Read more about the film and his transformation below.
Johnny Depp Photographed On Set Of 'Ebenezer' With Gray Hair & A Grizzly Beard
The 62-year-old actor has been through a lot over the last handful of years, and now, following his highly publicised defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, he is back in the spotlight and back on set to film new projects.
Last week, Johnny was photographed on set for one of his upcoming films, Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, which will be another cinematic take and adaptation of A Christmas Carol, with him playing the lead character of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Although the film might take some different creative liberties with the story, the actor was photographed on set looking straight out of the storybook. He was seen wearing Scrooge's classic pajamas and a sleeping cap, with gray-blonde hair poking out from underneath, a patchy, gray beard, and large gray eyebrows. You can see the on-set photos here!

"His acting is perfect for this role," commented a fan on Instagram.
"He's gonna do an amazing job," added another.
"He looks like his older self," wrote an Instagram user, as another wrote he's "going to be great" in the classic part.
We'll be curious to see how fans and other film enthusiasts react to the new film, which is slated to premiere before the holidays this year, and if this is the comeback that will repair the actor's currently controversial reputation.
