All eyes were on Kate Middleton at this year’s Trooping the Color, i.e. the King’s Birthday Parade, which took place on Saturday, June 14th.
While the Princess of Wales, 43, went for a chic monochrome ensemble at last year’s event, she went in a different sartorial direction this year, opting for a bright and cheerful color palette that fans are completely obsessed with!
Kate Middleton Stuns In Aqua Catherine Walker Coat Dress For Trooping The Color
The mom-of-three looked phenomenal in an aqua-colored coat dress with ivory lapels and cuffs by Catherine Walker, teamed with a glamorous Juliette Botterill hat in a matching hue. Her brunette locks were worn in a chic and sophisticated twisted low bun, which showed off her delicate pearl earrings perfectly.
While her fans were understandably obsessed with her look, many of them recalled how it looked strikingly similar to a Catherine Walker coat dress worn by the late Princess Diana at Trooping the Color in 1988, and also during the British royal tour of Australia (pictured below) that same year. We love how the Princess of Wales pays homage to her ever-so-stylish late mother-in-law with her fashion choices!

Fan Comments
"She looks absolutely stunning," gushed one fan on Reddit. "She is just so gorgeous and this is a great color on her. Makes her eyes sparkle," agreed a second, as a third echoed: "That color is so pretty on her. She looks amazing."
"She will always be my style icon," a fourth chimed in. "Goodness, this is perfection," wrote a fifth fan, as a sixth added: "She looks beautiful. I wish her many years of health & happiness."
"This dress looks like an homage to the late 80s early 90s," observed a seventh Reddit user, as an eighth added: "Kate always looks so good in saturated colors like this! The cut of the coat is very 80s but I think a structured piece like this really works for her." " I thought this was a repurposed Diana outfit, this is aggressively 80s," concurred another, while someone else praised: "So Diana coded. I love it." We do, too!
