Katy Perry just got a dramatic hair-over; and we are totally and completely obsessed with her brand new look!
The 36-year-old singer – who welcomed her first child with 44-year-old actor Orlando Bloom last year – debuted a brand new hairstyle when she and her fiancé attended the star-studded opening gala for The Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Saturday September 25.
All eyes should have been on the couple on their rare night off from parenting their one-year-old daughter Daisy Dove and how utterly in love they looked, but the only thing that anyone could talk about was Perry’s epic hair transformation. The singer styled her newly-dark locks into an Amy-Winehouse-esque beehive, with short bangs sweeping delicately across her forehead. And is it just us, or is the dark hair enhancing her piercing blue eyes more than ever? We don’t know what it is, but it’s definitely working for her – she looks phenomenal!

The American Idol judge has been blonde for many years now – although she has experimented with wigs and other temporary hair colors in-between then; she loves to mix things up, after all – but this is the first time we have seen her go back to her sleek raven locks in a while. And we don't know what took her so long to go back to the dark side!
The Roar singer is giving us serious I Kissed A Girl vibes, taking us right back to 2008 when she first burst onto the scene with her brunette locks, before going completely jet-black shortly after. She has treated us to everything from short pixie cuts to bright blue wigs to everything else in-between over the years, but we have to say the long black locks are definitely up there with our favorites!
We definitely didn’t see this bold hair transformation coming, but we hope Perry keeps it because she looks absolutely stunning!
